A.J. Tompkins
As a Social Worker and Therapist, I’ve long turned to art as a form of self-care, reflection, and healing. Through each intentional stroke, line, and moment of negative space, I find joy and grounding — transforming the emotional residue of daily life into something visual and meaningful.

Amanda Lane
I’m Amanda! I am a self-taught artist since the age of 10, i have been drawing for a good 10 years now! I really loved doing this art and it’s based on a story I’ve been working on all by myself! I really hope you enjoy this art as just as much as I do!

She has been creating art for over 30 years, and has been specializing in fat-focused artwork for over 7 of those years. Angelica loves to create fat artwork as a means of bringing representation to a commonly underrepresented group. She typically paints in acrylics, and uses Autodesk Sketchbook for her digital creations.
When she’s not painting or creating digital pieces, you can find Angelica wiggling and teasing her audience in her local burlesque community. There, she remains steadfastly committed to bringing representation for fat bodies to the world.

Ava DuBois
My name is Ava DuBois, and I am a teenage artist who has been passionate about drawing since I was two years old. Art has always been a way for me to express how I see the world. I draw inspiration from everything around me—especially people and the quiet beauty of how they live their lives with purpose, even if they don’t realize it themselves. I find beauty in the ordinary, in emotions, and in the stories people carry. Through my art, I try to capture that beauty, even when I’m drawing from personal experience. I believe everyone is uniquely beautiful, and that’s something worth noticing and drawing inspiration from every day.

Avery Eli
Specializing in watercolor, Avery is an artist who paints with the awe they greet the world with. From the natural life-cycles of birth, death, and the in-between, to the unseen layers of energy sparking inside each of us, they create reverent expressions. Avery wonders if the violence of hail and a terrible windstorm could compare to something so tiny as a freshly-torn wing. Could a stone be as worthy of worship as a mountain? Could we pray beside the moss as well? Their work invites us into seeing the sacredness in every detail of the natural world.
Beth Robinson

Dennis Collard
I have dabbled in painting off and on since childhood whenever time and inspiration would allow and have always looked forward to when I would have more time to paint.
My Influences have been: Russell Chatham, Edgar Alwyn Payne, J.M.William Turner, John F. Carlson, Chuck Mardosz and my children Kim and Paul who are both artists.
I have had private showings and sales. I have enteries in a show at the Unitarian Church Art Show fundraiser and two shows at The Art of the West Gallery in Broomfield Colorado and hosted a show for me and two other artists. Recently I had a painting accepted in a show featuring Birds of the Rocky Mountain Region II at The Brinton Museum in Big Horn, Wyoming and a painting at the CORE Art Space In Lakewood.
I love the challenge of creating depth and space in a landscape painting, finding the right values and color temperatures. My hope is that my paintings bring something that viewer can relate to that might deepen their connection to nature and be temporarily transported to another space or time in their mind.

Emma Bryer
I started painting in the 2nd grade, learning to recreate works by Claude Monet. His use of color and impressionism influences my work to this day. My first art teacher helped me improve on realism and recreating an image which I honed over time. I took art classes throughout high school, occasionally submitting my work into contests. I have won many t-shirt design contests and once a golden key award; however, my greatest achievement would be all the paintings that hang on my friend’s and family’s walls.

Jacqueline Ellis
My name is Jacqueline Ellis- I have been an artist my whole life (decided this in Kindergarten). Besides some incredible art teachers who encouraged me in grade school, I have been mostly self-taught. Everything I look at in life is an art project- whether it’s a painting, a drawing, renovating my home or a camper, making a cake, dressing for an occasion etc.. my brain cannot help but want to make things beautiful and colorful. I am a mother of 3, a massage therapist of 21 years, a wedding cake baker, a tattoo artist, an adventure seeker, and a lover of life.. at 41 years old I feel like I am just getting started. I only started painting instead of drawing a few years ago. I started learning the piano at 38 and started tattooing at 39. I learned how to tile this year. You are never too old to create something new and learn how to do it.

Jari Staphish
It’s remarkable that 2.5 lb Jari beat the odds of survival on July 16, 1993, arriving into this world three months early by his parents Craig and Kimberely Stapish. Joi Marshall
I have always adored art, be it performing arts, written art, drawn art, or other forms of expression. I love not just looking at and watching art, but also using it to convey my own emotions and thoughts. Though not used as often, art is a wonderful way to show a person’s soul. I have been writing since I was very young, picking up drawing and painting long after, although these days I do more of the latter. I once wanted to create art professionally, but it has become one of my favorite hobbies and pastimes. Losing myself in creation is a wonderful feeling I hope all can enjoy at some point in their lives.
Judie Smith
I have always been interested in creating pretty pictures that will give meaning to the subject.

Katie Granados
Art has always been a part of my life, but visual art is a newer focus for me. As a professional singer and voice teacher, I’ve spent most of my creative life helping others find their voice through music. Recently, I’ve been inspired to explore a new form of expression—drawing on the legacy of my great-grandfather, a celebrated painter in El Salvador. His work and passion for capturing the world around him have encouraged me to discover my own artistic voice. This journey feels both deeply personal and an exciting continuation of my family’s creative roots.

Kelly Spieker
I am a Colorado Springs native who has been crafty and artistic since I was a kid. I remember making holiday decorations with my mom, who would find ideas in magazines so that we could try to recreate them. Now I do the same with Pinterest. From macramé and dream catchers to refinished furniture and jewelry, I’ve tried it and found a way to filter it through my unique point of view.
Dot mandala painting started as a hobby and quickly turned into a meditative practice of counting dots and sharpening my skills. I love pairing colors that may not obviously match and finding random and obscure canvases to fill full of dots. I never thought about selling my art, but as the finished products started piling up, I figured I’d give it a try. Thus the Adopted Alien Project was born.

Kristin Bryce

For the past 31 years, she has worked in both leaded glass and acrylic painting, exploring the tension and beauty within chaos, light, and shadow. Her work blends emotion, transformation, and symbolism — often reflecting the same themes she tackles as founder of Managed Chaos Innovations, a consulting company that uses art, storytelling, and gamified frameworks to drive organizational change. Whether on canvas or in the boardroom, Kristin’s mission is to help others see the unseen and connect more deeply with their humanity. Her pieces often feature layered meaning, inviting viewers to reflect, reframe, and imagine new possibilities.

Kylie Bigelow
Kylie Bigelow is a college student who makes art in their free time to relax and express what it is to be human. Things that inspire her to make art are the people around her, new experiences and trying to capture the little moments in life. She believes that the smallest moments made with the people she cares about is what makes life worth living in a world full of worry. She appreciates art that captures the fleeting emotions of life and how a single still frame can display a story of a whole other person and their experiences. She believes that simply the creation of art is important, and everyone should give it a try.

I have been painting, since I was a little girl. I have written and illustrated four children’s books. I am a transplanted New Yorker and upon moving here,
I founded Scottish Terrier Rescue of Colorado Springs. Sales from my art, went to support my rescue and I help other rescues, with their fundraising. All my donated art prints sold on our PBS art auctions. I had three interviews on Good Morning Colorado. They were about my dog rescue, and they featured the art I had on my walls, to show that they help my rescue.

Michele Hoiling Miller
The absence of true connection in my early years shaped my ability to relate to others, leaving me with a lifelong struggle to build and maintain meaningful friendships. Until and only with my husband of 7 years. 26 years waiting for him, with 15 of those years suicidal and severely depressed.
Through my art and writing, I aim to shed light on the long-term effects of emotional neglect and abandonment. I hope to share my full story in a published book, using my lived experience to help others recognize and heal from similar wounds.
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” Genesis 50:20

Michelle Thomsen
I have always loved trees. I chose to draw to paint an oak tree and young woman on a swing to symbolize strength amidst adversity. In my life there have been challenges, but I see that through those struggles, strength has been built in me. Like the oak tree, which weathers many storms and roots are planted deep, I wanted this painting to show hope in overcoming obstacles and the positive traits that can be gained from them – including empathy for others.

Mischelle Dawn Wright
Hello, I’m Mischelle Wright. My art is my therapy – A way to heal and process difficult emotions from my past. Creating art has been transformative, helping me express feelings and thoughts words alone couldn’t capture. Through painting, I’ve found calmness, clarity, and peace. Each piece represents a step forward in my healing journey. My art is emotional, honest, and imperfect – just like me. I share my art too: Inspire others who’ve faced similar challenges to find their own healing path. Show that emotions and struggles are valid and shared. Prove that creativity can be a powerful healing tool. My art is my story – raw, emotional, and honest. I hope it resonates with you and inspires your own healing journey. Thank you for witnessing my process and sharing this experience with me.

Nadia Hinton
I began creating art during a time when I was learning about myself and discovering what I was capable of. It all started with a class in Pueblo where I learned how to paint landscapes. Later, in California, I explored drawing with colored pencils and created a beautiful flower. That’s when I realized I had a talent for painting. Over time, I expanded my skills and started making even more amazing pieces. I’ve explored many different types of art, and it’s fascinating how the mind and creativity work together to bring art to life.
One of my most memorable pieces was an acrylic pour, which turned out beautifully. Right now, I’m really excited about learning texture painting—it’s a whole new experience. I once had a specific vision for a painting, but when I finished it, it looked completely different. That’s the thing about art—it doesn’t always make sense, but that’s part of its charm.
Creativity has always been a part of me, and I feel blessed to have this talent. I’ve even shared some of my work with Stellar Care, a place that means so much to me. For me, art is like a vacation—it’s relaxing, enjoyable, and a powerful way to relieve stress. No matter what, I’ll always find joy in creating art.

Nyelah Barela
Hello, I am Nyelah and I love doing art as a form of personal expression. I often do it as a safe space mentally to decompress from my own mind. It comes fairly easily to create makes of my own, and often safe spaces I image myself to be in to find peace. I hope my artwork inspires others to express themselves and cope in healthy ways. It brings me so much joy to see other beautiful people create more beautiful things in life, in all aspects. I hope you enjoy my pieces. 🙂

Paul G Privitera
I am just your typical person with a passion for art (Oil, pastel and water) I have been painting since my teenage years. Most of my art reflects Colorado’s beauty but also includes still life, cityscapes and portraits. This particular piece represents my idea of what a peaceful garden might look like. Serene places like this represent a place where I can enjoy deep reflection and solitude in this hurried world. In addition to this my imagination takes me to sun drenched beaches, Quiet mountain vistas and rain drenched forests. I hope this piece remains you of some of your favorite retreats as well.
Phillip Neumann
Hello. I am Phillip Neumann, and I am 24 years old. I love making paper vehicles. I started making these when I was in middle school. The first ones I ever made were school busses. I now make mostly emergency vehicles. I love going to see the firetrucks, police cars, and ambulances in person and take pictures. Afterward, I take these pictures to look them up on the internet. Nowadays, I challenge myself doing not only fire, police, and ambulance vehicles, but also by doing semi trucks, busses and airplanes. I work hard to add the extra light bars, spot lights, mirrors, radio antennas, wifi connectors, bumper guards to all of my vehicles for character. I also make my vehicles for my friends, and police, fire and EMS personnel.

Rebecca Sargent
Hello! Disclaimer: I don’t actually consider myself an artist! I am a mom of two autistic girls and we all like to paint, draw, and create. My six-year-old girlie always scribbles a circular tornado-looking masterpiece and presents it to me with such excitement that it ends up on the refrigerator with the rest of her various vortex-like gifts. My nine-year-old draws detailed cartoon strips of forest animals having adventures and solving problems. I have an entire ream of copy paper devoted to a pair of foxes getting married… During art time, I generally position my mini easel at the end of the kitchen table, where I can fend off all helpful little hands, and quickly paint something with craft acrylics. I usually leave the finished work somewhere out of easy reach. I find that art in in most forms can be rewarding, refreshing, and something to be shared. That said, we always have a backlog of unused creations that don’t make the wall, or the refrigerator. I hope that you can find some enjoyment in these pieces as well!

William Patton
My name is Will Patton. I’ve always wanted to create art, but it’s been a complicated, internal struggle to fully commit. With the structure of a deadline and a clear goal, this show marks my first step in seeing a creative project through from beginning to end. It’s an uncomfortable but necessary leap—it’s an act of vulnerability and a commitment to my growth as an artist. My goal is simple but meaningful: to create more, to share more, and to trust that expression is worth the discomfort. This exhibit is the beginning of something I hope will continue to grow.
