TRE STANDS AGAINST RACISM
Grounded in our core values of RESPECT, INTEGRITY, PARTNERSHIP, EXCELLENCE and ACCOUNTABILITY, The Resource Exchange has no tolerance for injustice and discrimination of any kind related to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability. We are compelled to recognize and empower the benefits diversity brings to us, knowing that every individual deserves an equitable and meaningful life. These themes resound strongly in our community and nation today, with calls to address and end systemic racism.
The Resource Exchange, founded in 1964 during very tumultuous times for civil rights, was created by dedicated and passionate parents who wanted to ensure their children with intellectual and developmental disabilities were treated fairly and included as valued members of their community. Our commitment to our mission and values over the last 56 years has not wavered. The staff and Board of TRE thus stand with community partners in the continued effort to end racism and promote an inclusive society. We will continue to work to ensure that the individuals and families who we serve no longer suffer injustices due to their skin color, their place of origin, their religious beliefs, their gender identity or the disabilities they live with. Drawing on our decades-long strengths as an organization and community leader, we will do our part to help put an end to systemic racism and discrimination in our community and in communities across our nation.
