When we receive updates regarding the Early Intervention cost containment strategies, we will update them here.

On 2/19/25, TRE was notified by Colorado Department of Early Childhood that the Early Intervention Program was expecting a $4 million shortfall for the current fiscal year. Numerous budget cuts for local programs and to services for children and families were proposed to address the shortfall. However, the Joint Budget Committee (JBC), who set the Colorado budget, convened to discuss this shortfall. As a result, all proposed budget cuts have been paused while they investigate other ways to address the shortfall. No services are being cut to children and families at this time and TRE’s EI Program remains stable.
