SERVICES AND SUPPORTS
An array of supports is available. These include, but are not limited to: Information and referrals to community resources, advocacy (in schools or job-sites, etc.), coordination of supports and crisis intervention. Funding for FSSP comes from the State General Fund (taxpayer dollars), and is therefore limited. Families may apply for funding assistance for things such as: home or vehicle modifications, specialized diets or clothing, medical services not covered by a family’s private insurance or Medicaid, respite, etc. In making funding decisions, FSSP staff takes into account the levels of need of each family applying, overall availability of funds, and the number of requests that have been received. FSSP is not an entitlement program. There is no guarantee that any funding will be available.
The TRE Resource Library is available to families with children with disabilities already enrolled in FSSP. The Library has many books and periodicals on various disabilities, developmentally appropriate toys, instructional videos, etc. These items are for loan only and must be returned in good shape. |
