COLORADO SPRINGS—The Citizens Concerned for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities (CCIDD) is sponsoring the second annual Community Legislative Town Hall on Developmental Disabilities open forum. The purpose of this free and public meeting is to introduce individuals with developmental disabilities and their families to their elected representatives, as well as influential members of the communities of the Pikes Peak Region.

There are nearly 1600 children and adults with developmental disabilities waiting for services, and perhaps thousands more throughout El Paso, Park and Teller counties who need services.

Community-based service agencies, concerned citizens, people with developmental disabilities and their families, elected officials, and public policy experts will convene to address common interests and create solutions. The meeting will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., May 15, at the Antlers Hotel in Colorado Springs.

The CCID is comprised of the following agencies who advocate for people with developmental disabilities: The Resource Exchange, The ARC of the Pikes Peak Region, Cheyenne Village, Mosaic, Dungarvin Colorado, Carmel Community Living Corporation, Community Intersections, Special Kids/Special Families, Connecting with Community, Goodwill Industries of Colorado Springs, JWB, Inc., REM Colorado, Community Outreach, Children’s Network, Community Link, Ariel Clinical Services, and Red Earth Developmental Services.
